Clara Viola Büsel, born on 6 November 1999 in Germany, received her first violin lessons at the age of 4. In 2015 she began her studies as a young student at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich with Prof. Mi-kyung Lee, which she completed in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree under Prof. Julia Galic. She is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Prof. Priya Mitchell. During her studies she received lessons from David Frühwirth, Prof. Ulf Wallin and Florian Sonnleitner. Clara took part in numerous master classes with Prof. Conrad von der Golz, Kirill Troussov, Prof. Priya Mitchell as well as the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Prof. Paul Roczek. As a scholarship holder of the Chamber Music Workshop of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the young musician received courses with Veronique Bastian and David van Dijk and was heard in the programme "Junge Philharmonie" on Bayern4Klassik. Additional chamber music lessons with Prof. Silke Avenhaus, Prof. Dirk Mommertz, Prof. Eberhard Feltz, Lukas Maria Kuen, Prof. Chia Chou and Prof. Alexander Pavlovsky enriched her musical education.
After her solo debut at the age of ten with the youth chamber orchestra Violinissimo, Clara played concerts with the Inn-Salzach-Euregio Youth Orchestra and the Symphonieorchester der Musikfreunde Braunau/Simbach, among others. Concerts have taken the Violinist through Germany, Austria, England, France, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore and the USA. Clara Büsel has performed as a soloist at numerous festivals such as the Singapore Youth Festival, the Cremona Music Festival, the International Festival "Summa Cum Laude" at the Vienna Musikverein, the "Mattseer Diabelli Sommer" in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the International Music Festival New York in the "Issac Stern Auditorium" of Carnegie Hall. She has performed several times at various international festivals in the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus Vienna and in 2017 presented thereby a work for solo violin and string orchestra by the contemporary composer Alan Torok. Most recently, she performed at the MISATANGO Festival in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.
In addition, she intensively cultivates her passion for chamber music work in the youth chamber orchestra Violinissimo, with which she is a prize-winner in national and international competitions as a member and also as concertmaster in various formations, such as the international orchestra competition "Summa Cum Laude" at the Vienna Musikverein. As a member of the orchestra but also as a soloist, Clara regularly performs with the JKO Violinissimo at benefit concerts and thus supports various organisations on a voluntary basis.
Clara has gained valuable experience as a member or substitute in numerous symphony orchestras such as the Junges Philharmonisches Orchester München, Neue Philharmonie München and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie (HAP 2023 "Flüsse", HAP 2024 "Lied der Nacht"). In Dezember 2024 till January 2025, she will join the Vienna Royal Orchestra on a concert tour in China.
As a soloist and also in various chamber music categories, she won numerous 1st prizes at the Youth competition "Jugend Musiziert". Together with a string quartet she also won the 1st Prize at national level of the competition "Jugend Musiziert" and they received the special prize of the cultural department of the city of Freising and were awarded the Rotary - Music Prize.
Pedagogy has a special place in Clara`s everyday musical life. Even before her studies, she was able to gain her first experience through group coaching at the JKO VIOLINISSIMO academy, led by Ulli Büsel and later began passionately teaching her own violin class in Munich. In 2023 she completed her studies in pedagogy at the HMTM in Munich.
Clara Büsel gained organisational experience through projekt management at the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) in Munich 2024, which she will continue in 2025. She is currently working for the OCMF 2024 (Oxford Chamber Musik Festival).
In 2022 Clara Viola Büsel was accepted as a composer in the music publishing house "Ries & Erler" and published her Pieces for Violin Solo in same year. A commissioned composition for string orchestra was premiered at the Udk Berlin and Philharmonie Berlin in April 2024.
